Good Quality Bearings

I picked up these HYENA 608-2RS bearings for my adult son, who has been skateboarding for years. They were fairly inexpensive, so our expectations were modest. He's particular about his setup and usually sticks with name brands, so we figured these would be a decent backup at best. They ended up surprising both of us.

He installed them on his board and put them through their paces. The bearings roll smoothly and stayed consistent through his sessions, with no gritty feeling or noticeable slowdown. His verdict was that they perform as well as the name-brand bearings he normally buys, which is high praise from someone who has tried plenty over the years.

The 8-pack comes in a reusable metal tin with a removal tool for the rubber seals, a thoughtful extra that makes cleaning and maintenance easier. Everything is neatly organized, and the tin is handy for keeping spare sets together.

The one caveat is that we can't speak to long-term durability yet. They've held up well so far, but we'll have to see how they do after months of hard use. Based on performance and price, though, these are well worth trying, and I'd recommend them to any skater looking for a budget-friendly alternative to the big names.
