Where the finish matters

The finish is applied to the contact surfaces inside the bearing.

Inside the bearing

Raceways: The tracks inside the bearing are precision-polished.
Rolling elements: The balls also receive a precision-polished finish at the contact surface.
Lubrication: Lubrication works with the finished surfaces during repeated sessions.

Surface finish and dust protection are different.

Both Street Core and Hyper Speed feature MirrorFlow. Their priorities differ at the seal: Street Core emphasizes dust protection, while Hyper Speed prioritizes low drag on cleaner surfaces.
